Le jeu Shut the Box aurait été inventé au XIIe siècle en France. La légende raconte que Shut the Box était un jeu très apprécié des marins et des pêcheurs au large des côtes normandes il y a environ 200 ans. Un autre récit indique que Shut the Box a été joué par des trappeurs de fourrures de la Compagnie de la Baie d'Hudson du 19e siècle. Aujourd'hui, Shut the Box se joue toujours avec des enjeux et constitue l'un des jeux de pub préférés en Angleterre.
Le jeu porte plusieurs noms, dont Canoga, Tric-Trac et Batten Down the Hatches. Les règles et l'équipement varient d'un endroit à l'autre, mais Shut the Box perfectionnera vos compétences de base en mathématiques tout en vous divertissant pendant des heures.

How to keep track of the dice without a box to put the game in after use? It’s a problem, I spent hours trying to find a box online. I eventually found a box that sort of works in a craft store. The workmanship on the game itself is excellent.

Hi there, This game does not need a box to be played. It does not come with a box, as it is not needed for it to function as a game. The name of the game, Shut the Box, derives from the player putting down the numbered tiles, thus shutting the box.
