- Each wooden canteen is ready to drink from when you receive it. The wide cotton strap is comfortable on the shoulder and the wooden stopper fits snugly to seal the canteen. The inside is coated with a thin layer of beeswax. These can be painted or stained to fit your impression.Diameter is 6.25". Depth is 3.5". Holds 35 ounces.

Very nice canteen, the wood is very light in colour so had a go at staining just very lightly, but the glue used to put them together would not allow stain to take, had to sand hard to remove the glue, not a perfect job but acceptable. I like the wooden bands, I took mine off and tightned slightly, also replaced the black leather strap keepers with light brown veg. strips, just a personal thing. Finished with an application of olive oil. Looks great now.

It is somewhat smaller than other wood canteens, which I considered a plus. The wood takes priming and painting very well and without extra preparation.
