      Dido Elizabeth Belle (1761 – July 1804) was a British heiress and a member of the Lindsay family of Evelix. She was born into slavery by Maria Belle, an enslaved African woman in the British West Indies. Her father was Sir John Lindsay, a British career naval officer who was stationed there.

      Made from the highest quality leather, the shoes are each handmade and lined with fine calfskin. The shoes are standard width and feature a hard, thick leather sole, perfect for use in camp or inside a fine home. The latchets should be secured with a buckle or a simple ribbon.
