    • A muzzleloading kit is not complete without a primer horn! The flattened surface of these primer horns makes them less bulky and easier to carry.  Made of true cow horn with turned wooden plugs, the natural beauty will complement any black powder rifle.

      Each measure roughly 10" long.

    Cute little horn

Nice little horn. Purchased this horn with the intention of using it as a priming horn. Will probably fit inside most hunting bags. Horns vary in size so your capacity may vary. The capacity of this horn was around 1000 grains. I may use this horn as a main horn for smaller shooting events. Should provide enough 3F powder for at least 15 shots. Hard to fill without a funnel. May modify the end plug to accept a larger fill hole. Lanyard is a simple leather thong attached with iron staples. Will upgrade with a proper braided horn strap that connect with the future larger fill plug and the neck of the horn. Wooden plug is not attached to horn and will need some sort of retaining lanyard so it does not get lost. Easy addition. Overall, a nice little horn to start with. A couple of modifications to improve its function and some hand etching to personalize it make this an excellent beginners horn. Keep you powder dry!!

I purchased a flat primer horn and a large powder horn. Did not get to use them , yet. Just got back from a Lewis & Clark reenactment, today and burned a small hole in the sleeve of a new shirt I purchased from you earlier this year. But don't worry. It looks broke in, now!

The shirt looks great and less expensive than Townsend's!
